Ever make those promises to yourself to refrain from doing this or that for JUST one day? Well, today is the day I’m going to do that. Today is the day that I”m going to make a short list of things that I’m trying to do. Hey, I do that all the time – I make those “to-do” lists or those “to- not-do” lists….but today is the day I am posting this idea on my blog. And because of said posting, today is the day that I’m really really going to follow those lists. Right?

Yes, I’m convinced, confident and assured of myself today. (Hopefully this will last. But hey, we take what we get- one day at a time).

Today I’m going to refrain from going off my food plan for JUST one day. I’m a veteran Weight Watcher, for those of you who are wondering why I’m going off-topic from the grandmother themes. (Just for today I’m doing that. Okay? Thanks).

Today is the day I’m going to avoid making the impulsive food choices. And to put that in the positive: Today is the day I’m going to make positive, healthy food choices.

Today is the day I’m going to write down everything I eat, and really keep it honest.

Okay, okay, you get the idea.

But, now I’m thinking: when I start to get into my “today is the day” mode, I need to pull back and relax. And know that once I’ve made that commitment in the morning, I can take confidence that I’ve done it before. And I can do it again.

I’ll let you know tomorrow morning how it went. Accountability is a good thing. And I look forward to reporting back to you bloggers and readers.  Stay tuned for the follow-up – that will be TOMORROW.

But it’s still today now. Today is the day.

this week’s parsha is about vows, that is, refraining from things that are permitted. e.g, chocolate cake…… maybe the spiritual energy this week will aid us! good luck to you and me — i also “vow” to write down my points, etc. i get as far as the evening sometimes…. mf la

Such a great point! That gives me so much encouragement to know that it is tied to the Parsha. Wow! Thanks and may we continue to give each other support..
